📌 Part 1: The Fear Factor – What the Cowardly Lion Teaches Us About Stepping Into Our Power
Mar 05, 2025
I don’t know about you, but whenever I meet someone in business, I always want to know their values and beliefs.
Why?
Because that tells me who they are at their core. It reveals their character, their drive, and whether or not we’re aligned for collaboration.
So today, I want to share something that deeply informs my work as a Dream Doula.
It’s a powerful paradigm that can help you:
✅ Transform your life and business
✅ Find your Dream Clients
✅ Build a successful brand that aligns with your passion and purpose
I call this the Standout Storytelling Framework™. But before I explain, let’s take a journey down the yellow brick road.
The Wisdom of Oz
Do you have a favorite version of The Wizard of Oz?
(Mine is The Wiz—Broadway version, of course!)
This story has survived generations. It’s been retold, remixed, and even flipped on its head (hello, Wicked!). But no matter which version you love, there’s one thing that remains the same:
It’s a story about self-discovery.
A journey of overcoming fear, finding inner strength, and stepping into purpose.
And today, I want to talk about one character who doesn’t always get the spotlight but has one of the most powerful transformations…The Cowardly Lion.
Lessons from the “Cowardly” Lion
At first glance, the Cowardly Lion is anxious, timid, and full of false bravado.
He roars loud but runs away at the first sign of trouble.
He talks big but doubts himself at every turn.
But here’s the part that gets me…
Even though he was terrified, he never left the journey.
💡 He kept moving forward—despite the fear.
💡 He showed up for his friends—even when he wanted to run.
💡 He proved that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s action in the face of it.
And by the end of the journey, he wasn’t just a lion anymore.
He was a leader.
What This Means for You
So many high-achieving women I work with struggle with the same thing…
❌ They downplay their gifts.
❌ They second-guess their ability to stand out.
❌ They let fear keep them from stepping into their full power.
They tell themselves…
“Who am I to be seen as an expert?”
“What if I fail?”
“What if people don’t take me seriously?”
And just like the Lion, they talk themselves out of their own greatness.
But here’s the truth:
📌 You don’t need to “be ready” before you step into your power.
📌 Courage is built through action, not waiting.
📌 Your Dream Clients don’t need a “perfect” expert—they need someone real, someone who’s walked the path and can show them the way.
So here’s my question for you:
Where are you letting fear hold you back?
Because next week, I’m going to show you exactly how to turn your fear into fuel, own your story, and build a brand that magnetizes your Dream Clients.
To be continued…
